2025 Philadelphia 76ers Preseason Preview
Last year the 76ers finished with 47 wins and 35 losses. They lost to the New York Knicks in the first round. This year they will try another interaction of a roster around former MVP Joel Embiid.
Embiid played only 39 regular season games last year before returning in time for the playoffs where he put up 33 pts a game in the 2-4 series loss to the Knicks. This year he’ll be joined by Paul George, who makes his return the the Eastern Conference. George played 74 games last year for the Clippers, after playering 31 and 56 the two years prior. Rounding out the big three is the return of reigning Most Improved Player Tyrese Maxey.
Health and depth are going to be the deciding factor in how the 76ers fair during the regular season. Backing up Embiid is 13th year vet Andre Drummond who isn't without his own injury history. Drummond and Embiid are the only players on Philadelphia’s roster 6’8”. Also expected to contribute for the 76ers in Kyle Lowry who will turn 39 before the end of the season, and Eric Gordon who will turn 36 on Christmas this year.
This is likely as good of a year as any for the 76ers, and Embiid can’t ever be counted out, but if this version of the roster can’t make a deep playoff run Philidelphia is running out of ways and chances to improve their roster during Embiids prime.
